Felted Robot

One of the nicest things about felting is that it gives you the opportunity to make fun gifts for you child's classmates. This is a robot that I made for a young six year old boy. I wanted to give it a retro look so I had my husband give me some tips on just the right type of antenna for our robot.

Thon A La Provencale

This weekend I decided to get out of the beef and chicken habit and decided to prepare "Thon A La Provencale" (Tuna or Swordfish Steaks with Wine, Tomatoes, and Herbs). This recipe can be found in "Mastering the Art of French Cooking".

I started off with the purchase of 3 lbs of Albacore Tuna at $12.99 a lb. (Ouch, at least I will have leftovers) I also needed to get 3 lbs of tomatoes. (I chose Roma since they are so easy to peel and juice). I also needed to buy some white whine so I just got a bottle of Trader Joe's "Two Buck Chuck" Chardonnay. Other than those ingredients I had everything else on hand for the main dish. I also made mashed potatoes with goat cheese, and I blanched some green beans and tossed them in vinaigrette dressing.

For the most part the meal was excellent. It gave me all of the serotonin pumping power of the best anti depressants. I think that if all world leaders were locked in a room together and served food prepared with the utmost of care we would go a long way towards world peace. It is important to feel fed and nourished. When you feel this way you know you can do anything and you can make room in your life for others to do the same.
